As the 2016 season gets going we tasked TaylorMade M1 designer Brain Bazzell to set up the company’s new driver for each of the four Majors. We wanted a high slinging draw for Augusta, a low penetrating flight for The Open at Troon, a straight flight for the unforgiving US Open at Oakmont and finally max distance for the USPGA to close the season out.
All of these set ups were achieved by moving the two adjustable weight tracks on the sole of the M1 driver. The front track controls the side to side movement; in the heel for more draw and in the toe for more fade. The second front to back rail controls the launch angle and spin; in the front for low launch and low spin, or in the back for high launch, spin and forgiveness. As these two track are independent there are infinite combinations you can use to set your M1 up perfect for you.
