It is easy to watch the PGA Tour and think how easy it would be if you could use (and afford!) the equipment used by the best player in the world. But have you thought about trying to build a bag worthy of use by Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy? Is it even possible without a huge budget? Well at Golfbidder it most certainly is! Here's an example of what it would look like, just one of the thousands of combinations available.

Titleist 913 Driver - £80-100

The Titleist 913 D3 was used by Rory to win the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island. Titleist only release drivers every two years with changes tending to be less dramatic than with other brands. For a current price tag of £80-100, the 913 still matches up excellently against the best of today.

Chose the D3 for less spin and more distance (if you're a better player). Or for the Tour Player look with a little extra forgiveness, go for the D2, no one will notice!

Fairway Wood

Nike Vapor Speed Fairway Wood - £80-90

For our Rory McIlroy fairway wood, it has to be the Nike Vapor Speed. One specific shot comes to mind. Remember Rory's fairway wood into the last hole at the Irish Open in 2016 to set up an eagle and win? That was with a Nike Vapor fairway.

Iron Set

Titleist 710 MB Irons - £200

From Jones to Hogan, Nicklaus to Tiger, and now McIlroy forged blades irons are what separates the artists from the pugilists on the golf course.

For our bag on a budget, we'll add the 710MB irons. These are solely for better players and pure ball strikers. However, if that's not you, then you can keep the Rory vibe going and still game a set of irons from the Titleist 710 family. Whether it's the Tour preferred CB and AP2, or the game improvement AP1 model you can get a set of serious golf clubs for less than £200.

TaylorMade Milled Grind Wedges - £55-65 each

The 'scoring zone' is one area of Rory's game that's improved exponentially since his move to TaylorMade. We have these TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges from £55-65. For our bag (as our irons run to PW) we'll add two. One standard and one Hi-toe model.

TaylorMade Spider Tour or Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Putter - £140-250

Putting is another area of his game which has helped him climb the World Rankings since putting the Spider Tour X from TaylorMade in the bag. In the past though Rory has used a Scotty Cameron Newport style putter, a Nike Method 006, and a Scotty Cameron mallet in 2016 - leaving us with two choices for our budget bag. Mallet or blade?

If you prefer a mallet, the original Spider Tour putter in red Spider Tour is a great option. Not used by Rory but the predecessor to the one he is currently gaming, and doing pretty well with!

Or if you prefer a blade, we have a huge range of Scotty Cameron putters for between £150 and £250 depending on age.

If you went with the Spider putter, the whole bag will set you back around £550. Swap the Spider Tour out for a Scotty Cameron Newport and you'll be adding around £100 to the cost. But one thing is for sure you can assemble a bag Rory would be proud of on a budget!
