Srixon Fairway Woods
About Srixon Fairway Woods
Despite being a relative newcomer to the golf hardware market in the UK and Europe, Srixon provides a real alternative to some of the more traditional fairway wood offerings from the likes of Callaway and TaylorMade.
Unlike their drivers where there are different models aimed at different player profiles when a new product is released - in terms of fairways its a case of one size fits all for Srixon, with everything geared towards the mid to lower handicap.
For example, the Z F85 has a smaller profile which promotes a powerful and penetrating flight - both characteristics preferred by the better player. Srixon is also starting to employ their driver tech in their fairways with a lightweight carbon crown in the 3, and 3+ models, moving mass and the centre of gravity lower for higher MOI and increased stability.
Concerning the lofts available, Srixon has moved away from an adjustable hosel in their fairways freeing up a lot of mass (relatively) which can be better used to increase forgiveness. With this in mind, and as not to exclude anyone looking for a specific loft, Srixon makes sure they release enough lofts to cover any variety of gaps you may have at the top of your bag. Add their excellent hybrid offering to the mix too, the long game solution from Srixon becomes very attractive.
Another stand out characteristics of second-hand Srixon fairway woods is their superb build quality. Like all clubs from Japanese brands, they stand head and shoulders above the competition in terms of manufacturing.
