Ping iWi ½ Craz-E - 'puts customisation in your hands'.
New for 2009 Season - The Ping iWi ½ Craz-E putter is a member of the latest generation of putters from Ping that are designed to complement the popular i-Series and Karsten Series putter lines, the iWi (Interchangeable Weight Inserts) series for 2009.
The leading edge design of the iWi 1/2 Craz-E putter springs from the focus of Ping on multi-metal technology, combining key properties of the individual materials to drive putter performance. The Ping iWi 1/2 Craz-E combines a stainless steel body, a steel and elastomer insert, and steel or tungsten sole weights, which result in an optimal weight distribution to deliver increased feel and consistency on all lengths of putt.
The real difference is in the sole where there are 2 steel weights of 12 grams each which can be adjusted designed to let you adapt your flat stick to the conditions of the greens you are playing on. Interestingly Ping say that the 'smash factor' or force of impact of the iWi putter is the same as the rest of their range making it is easy to change model and upgrade if your putter is a little out of date and you were afraid that you may lose your touch if you were to change.
Ping have raided the tungsten larder and will be selling a separate weights kit with a wrench and a pair of 20 gram and 28 gram tungsten weights so you can adjust the weight of the putter yourself.
