NIKE SQ Sumo irons/ New for 2008 the SQ Sumos are Nike's most forgiving iron yet.
Every detail has designed to increase ball speed and accuracy.
The SQ Sumo irons feature a long blade length, wide sole and Nike PowerBow design to deliver an extreme perimeter-weighted club and highest MOI from any Nike iron set yet. (MOI = Moment of Inertia - a phrase much used by Golf Marketeers which basically boils down to high moi = more forgiving on slight miss-hits = straighter shots).
To add power to your shots the SQ sumo irons feature a Cryo Steel Face Insert. This lightweight Cryo Steel material in the long irons (4-7) provides a large responsive sweet spot for maximum distance and increased forgiveness across the clubface. Allied to this is Nike PowerBow Weighting:
Weight is strategically positioned to move the CG (Centre of gravity) low and deep, increasing the MOR and creating a more stable iron at impact.
To add more feel to your shots a soft vibration dampening TPU insert dampens unwanted vibrations at impact.
To achieve greater swing speed for extra distance, but without losing feel, Nike has employed the follow shafts as standard:
Steel :True Temper's speed step SL steel shafts that are30% lighter than traditional steel shafts.
Graphite: Mitsubishi’s iDiamana graphite shaft specifically designed for their SQ Sumo irons.
