About Nike SQ SUMO Squared

Nike SQ Sumo Squared Fairway. New for 2008 Nike have gone down the technical route to bring out the SQ SUMO 2 Squared Fairway wood. It has a square head design, generous offset and extreme perimeter weighting making this Nike's most forgiving Fairway wood ever. Designed to deliver exceptional stability at impact and produce high launching soft landing shots. The lightweight face is thicker in the middle and progressively thinner at the edges, resulting in a more consistent ball speed, maximum distance and increased forgiveness across the club face. The square Nike PowerBow design strategically positions weight low and to the perimeter. The resulting high MOI and low GC produce a very forgiving and stable head at impact. To maximise the performance by flex of their SasQuatch Sumo Squared Fairway, Nike employed Mitsubishi to fit their high MOI fairway with their Diamana Yellow Board Shafts. Produced for their Tour quality, these shafts are weighted specifically to give players optimum distance and accuracy. Meanwhile a Nike Monorail Sole design makes it easy to hit this forgiving fairway with all kinds of lies for maximum versatility.

This is the easiest club I've ever hit, plenty of loft and you don't have to swing hard, even if you hit it off center it doesn't go too far off. Nice work Nike.

Lovely club. Long and straight as the title suggests. Takes a few shots to get used to but gives a good stable swing and strike.

I am one of those people who always tinkers with his equipment, changing frequently, even though I am a steady 8 handicap. I have a Nike Sumo Square 5900 driver and decided to try the fairway wood. It is a 17 degree 4 wood. It is good off the tee , fairway or light rough. Even bad shots are not disastrous. If you are looking for a fairway club that will not upset you , when you need to make that pressure shot, try the Nike SQ , you will not be disappointed.
