Been playing golf on and off for nearly 30 years, (10 year breaks) and this last 18months I started again. After having a typical push/slice off the tee I tried the Spine at the London Golf Show with excellent results. Until now, I've only had 'budget' woods and after splitting the face on my last driver I decided to replace it with the Spine. For the first time in the last 18 months, I have been hitting a considerably straighter ball and I've been able to actively draw the ball when I've tried it. I would recomend spending out on this club and after a couple of weeks, you will definately see a difference.

Model Info 2008

Wilson Staff Spine Driver. New for 2008 the Spine driver is Wilson Staff's first foray into the square driver market. Powered by its innovative crown super-structure and unique perimeter weighting, the new Spine driver explores today's new driver geometry, generating high MOI with explosively long and accurate results. (The higher the MOI, the straighter your drives) The Spine achieves high MOI and low CG by redistributing weight from the center of the crown to the perimeter. The result is the industry's first truly perimeter weighted driver with a higher MOI and lower CG than traditional 460cc drivers. Weight scooped out of the crown was moved down around the perimeter to lower the CG for higher launch angle and preferred lower driver spin. A unique "spine", or ridge line, reinforces the face behind the impact area, offering even hotter ball speeds. Because of the superior stability produced by the non-traditional head, the standard shaft offering is longer to maximize distance while maintaining control.
