Jason Bohn

Residence: Acworth, USA

DOB: 24/03/1973

Jason graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a degree in Finance. However in 1992, while a sophomore at Alabama, he was playing in a charity fund-raiser in Tuscaloosa when he made a hole-in-one worth $1 million. He decided to drop his amateur status and golf scholarship on the spot and turned professional so that he could claim the prize money. This decision forced him to try and make it as a professional and Jason played on the Canadian Tour and the Nationwide Tour before earning promotion to the PGA Tour by finishing 9th on the Nation Wide tour Money List, where he was a 2004 rookie. His second win on the Canadian Tour came in dramatic fashion. Jason shot a final round 13-under par 58 to win the Bayer Championship. After a playoff loss to Tom Carter at the 2003 Samsung Canadian PGA Championship in July Jason earned his first career victory three weeks later at the 2003 Chattanooga Classic. He fired four rounds in 60s to edge Kyle Thompson by one stroke with a tournament-record 263 total. Jason’s second season on the PGA Tour was marked by his first win on the full Tour. He won the PGA Tour's B.C. Open. Jason recorded four rounds in the 60s for the first time on the PGA Tour. Going into the final round Jason trailed by one stroke but closed with a 6-under 66 and won by one over five others. His 2007 season was limited to 17 events due to a rib injury suffered at the Memorial Tournament in June, where he was forced to withdraw. After one month of rest, re-injured ribs at the A&T National and did not play for the remainder of the season. Granted Major Medical Extension and had 12 events in 2008 to equal 2007's No. 125 earnings of $785,180) - which he did by winning over $850,000. His best finish in 2009 came at the Shell Houston Open in April where he finished in a tie for 4th place.

2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

17-20 January - Bob Hope Chrysler Classic - Bermuda Dunes, Silver Rock, Nicklaus Private at PGA West, Palmer Private at PGA West and Palm Springs, California. 27-year-old Trahan, who had won just once before, charged from 4 shots back Sunday to overtake Justin Leonard and win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Trahan shot a sparkling 7-under 65 to beat Leonard by 3 strokes. The younger player said a 4-shot deficit looked imposing heading into the final round of the 5-day tournament but came through to prevail in the end.

In Jason Bohn's bag...An opening round of 66 got Jason off to a great start but with their being 5 rounds in this week’s tournament there was still time for the course to bite back and it did just that in the second round. A second round of 74 knocked his challenge off track and he could not recover t be in contention going into the final round. He closed with a 69 to eventually end up in a tie for 22nd. This is another cracking photo where we can clearly see a number of Jason’s clubs. We can clearly see that his Driver is a Titleist 907 (and I suspect it is the better player D2 model). You can just about make out that the side facing fairway is a Titleist PT 906 F4. Hiding behind the driver is the distinctive ‘mesh’ head cover of Titleist 805H hybrid. His irons are the beautiful Titleist Forged 670 blades.
