The lifelong Queens Park Rangers fan captured Sunningdale Foursomes as an amateur in 1994 with fellow European Tour colleague Steve Webster. As a 15 year old junior member at Sunningdale, he used to practise with Nick Faldo. Anthony represented England at Boys and Youths level before turning professional in 1995 off a handicap of +2. He has finished in the top 90 on the Order of Merit for 11 consecutive seasons since he graduated to The European Tour through the 1997 Qualifying School. His maiden title victory came in 2000 when he won the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa but his best year since then came in 2006 when he earned three second places, including one at the Smurfit Kappa European Open which earned him an exempt spot into The 135th Open Championship. An opportunity he made the most of. An assured performance at Hoylake, eventually saw him finish as the leading British golfer in a share of 11th spot. He saved his best performance of 2008 until the last event when he finished tied second at the Volvo Masters en route to finishing 22nd in the Order of Merit. 2009 started well with 4 top-ten finishes early on but the season has hit the doldrums recently.
