Dustin Johnson Tournament History

2009 World Golf Championship - CA Championship

12-15 March 2009 - Doral Golf and Spa Resort - Phil Mickelson won his first World Golf Championships title on Sunday at the CA Championship, where he held off Nick Watney to take the title by one stroke and his 36th career victory. However this was perhaps not the most news worthy story of the week. During his opening round, Henrik Stenson thought it a good idea to play from out of the water! After stripping down to his boxer shorts the Swede preceded to do just this. And it was down to PGA Tour photographer Kyle Auclair to capture this magical moment. With the world’s best golf photographers trailing Tiger Woods, Kyle decided he was going to follow other players instead. Little did he know this particular sequence of images would be plastered on newspapers, websites and television shows all over the country the next day.

In Dustin Johnson's bag...Dustin threw his chances of glory away on Sunday this week. After carding a stunning 66 in the second round and getting into contention going in to the last day, a round of 76 sent him flying in the other direction. He would have been looking to secure a top-10 this week but instead a 76 in the final round left him in a tie for 35th. This is a cracking photo of Dustin’s bag this week. We can clearly see the clubs that he was using. There is a TaylorMade Burner Tour TP driver and TaylorMade Burner Tour Launch Fairways. His irons were TaylorMade Tour Preferred (we snapped him with RAC TP’s last year). Finally, hiding under the irons is a TaylorMade Z TP wedge.

2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic

17-20 January - Bob Hope Chrysler Classic - Bermuda Dunes, Silver Rock, Nicklaus Private at PGA West, Palmer Private at PGA West and Palm Springs, California. 27-year-old Trahan, who had won just once before, charged from 4 shots back Sunday to overtake Justin Leonard and win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Trahan shot a sparkling 7-under 65 to beat Leonard by 3 strokes. The younger player said a 4-shot deficit looked imposing heading into the final round of the 5-day tournament but came through to prevail in the end.

In Dustin Johnson's bag...3 rounds of 67, 69 and a 63 were spoilt by a final round 71. Going into the final day in 8th place, Dustin went the wrong way on the leader board and finished up in 12th place. Dustin's driver was a Taylor Made r7 SuperQuad TP (10.5˚). He used the Taylor Made Burner TP fairway wood (14.5˚ and 17.5˚). His irons were the Taylor Made rac Forged TP (3-P) and were complimented by Taylor Made rac Satin TP 54˚ and 58˚). He was using a Taylor Made Monte Carlo #7 putter.
