Ryan Armour
Residence: Silver Lake, Ohio
DOB: 27/02/1976
Information on Ryan Armour is a bit scarce – mainly because he’s only just joined the main US Tour. His junior career resulted in him making it to the finals of the 1993 US Junior Finals. Between 2004 and 2006 he was a member of the second-tier Nationwide Tour where in 2006 he made 21 cuts out of 27 starts. Our biog photo shows Ryan hitting the new Titleist D2 driver – and was taken in March 2007 at the PODS Championship at the Innisbrook Resort in Florida which was won by Open Champion Mark Calcavecchia.
Prior to this Ryan was a member of the Developmental Players Tour in 2001-02. He was an Individual medallist at the 1998 Big Ten Championship and also earned third-team All-American honours that year. Ryan was selected to the All-Big Ten squad in 1995 and 1998. He earned his full Tour Card by finishing 13th at the Tour Qualifying School in 2006.
Ryan has had a difficult time on the PGA Tour in his rookie season making only 13 cuts along the way. His best finish of the year came that the Shell Houston Open in June where he finished in a tie for 14th place. He finished the season with $354,508 in prize money and 172nd place on the money list, which unfortunately means that it’s back to Q-School for the 2009 season.

Ryan Armour Tournament History
2007 PODS Championship |
8-11 March - PODS Championship - Westin Innisbrook - Copperhead Course. Won by 1998 Open Champion Mark Calcavecchia with a 10 under par score of 274. This was Calcavecchia’s first Tour victory since the 2005 Bell Canadian – and his 13th win in total. The $954,000 first prize takes him over the $20m career earnings for his career. He finished at 10-under 274 – and had a bit of a let-off when Heath Slocum missed a 4-foot par putt on the final hole which would have taken him into the play-off. |
In Ryan Armour's bag...We're investigating what's under Ryan's interesting headcover - but what we can see is that he still prefers the older Ping i3+ irons - and uses aTitleist Vokey 54 degree 254.10 wedge.
