Rod Pampling
Residence: Flower Mound, Texas
DOB: 23/09/1969
Rod Pampling was born in Queensland and turned professional in 1994. He began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia, where he won the 1999 Canon Challenge and also spent time on the NGA Hooters Tour - a second-tier tour in the US.
Rod was the first-round leader at the 1999 British Open. He shot an even-par 71 at Carnoustie but then missed the cut after a second round 86.
As well as this; he spent time on the Nationwide Tour. He led this in top-10s with nine but did not bring home a win in his second season. Despite this he earned $306,573, setting a record for earnings without a victory. Rod also led the Nationwide Tour with a cumulative score of 162-under par.
He won his first PGA Tour event at The International at Castle Pines in Colorado in 2004 and his second at the 2006 Bay Hill Invitational, which took him into the top-50 of the Official World Golf Rankings and left him 17th on the US PGA Tour Money List with more than $2.6 million banked.
Rod had a up and down season in 2008. He had a number of top-10 finishes including a tie for 2nd at the Crown Plaza Invitational. However he had an equal number of missed cuts - many times coming in back to back tournaments. This search for consistency saw him just finish inside to top-50 on the PGA Tour Money List for 2008. Rod finished in 47th place with $1.7million in prize money.

Tiger Woods bagged another $1.35m for his two-shot win over Ryder Cup team mate Brett Wetterich at the Blue Monster Course at the Doral Resort in Miami, Florida between 22nd-25th March 2007. No one ever got closer than three shots to Tiger on the final afternoon.
