Kevin Na
Residence: Rancho Cucamonga, California
DOB: 15/09/1983
When he was aged 8, Kevin and his family moved from South Korea to the United States and Kevin took up the game a year later. By the time he had become too old to play junior golf he had become the top junior golfer in the United States. At this point he decided to bypass the final year of high school and collage to turn professional aged just 17.
In 2003 Kevin earned first PGA Tour card at age 20 by finishing tied for 21st in the final Qualifying Tournament. His success at Q-School marked the end of his 2 year stint on the PGA Tour of Asia where he finished 4th on the Order of Merit and became the third youngest winner when he won the 2002 Volvo Masters of Asia.
Kevin was the youngest player on tour in his rookie season and a 69 in the final round of the Honda Classic moved him up into a tie for 4th. Kevin came close to securing his first GA Tour victory in 2005. It was only Geoff Ogilvy who denied him this honour at the Chrysler Classic.
Na slammed his hand in a car door at the start of the 2006 season so his third season on tour was limited to only 11 starts. He was granted a medical exemption for the 2007 season where he achieved his best finish since the play-off loss to Geoff Ogilvy.
2008 was an up and down season. Three top-10 finishes were surrounded by missed cuts and high scoring rounds. He did enough though to secure his card for the 5th consecutive season on the PGA Tour. 2009 is going much better for Na. He has already secured 5 top-10 finished including a excellent 3rd place finish at The Players Championship. He is sitting in 16th place on the Money List with over $1.5million in prize money.
Kevin Na Club History
Below is a selection of clubs used by Kevin Na throughout his career
Kevin Na Tournament History
2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational |
26-29 March 2009 - Bay Hill Country Club and Lodge - This week marked the return of the Tiger Woods we all know and love. After 9 months out of action after re-constructive knew surgery - a birdie putt at the 72nd hole saw Tiger win as Bay Hill for a sixth time. Those familiar back-nine heroics and a putt that everyone knew he was going to drain saw the world number 1 come from 5 strokes back on the final day - equalling his career best comeback. This remarkable comeback must have been great to watch apart from the eyes of Sean O’Hair who Woods beat into second place. |
In Kevin Na's bag...Steady opening rounds of 69 and 70 left Kevin with a change of securing a fifth top-10 of what has been a very good opening to the 2009 season. However a 76 in the third round caused too much damage to his score that even a 10-shot improvement on the Sunday could not claw him back inside the top-10. He eventually finished jut 1 over par and in a tie for 11th place. Although we cannot see his full set - from this picture we can see that Kevin has change his title sponsor from Cobra to Titleist. We can see him using his new AP2 forged irons (and watching the ball very closely!). our friends at Titleist have helped us fill in the blanks. His driver was the new 909 D3 which was accompanied by a 909 F2 fairway. Kevin was using the same Titleist wedges that we saw him with previously - Titleist Vokey Design - one Spin Milled and one from the 200 Series.

2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic |
17-20 January - Bob Hope Chrysler Classic - Bermuda Dunes, Silver Rock, Nicklaus Private at PGA West, Palmer Private at PGA West and Palm Springs, California. 27-year-old Trahan, who had won just once before, charged from 4 shots back Sunday to overtake Justin Leonard and win the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Trahan shot a sparkling 7-under 65 to beat Leonard by 3 strokes. The younger player said a 4-shot deficit looked imposing heading into the final round of the 5-day tournament but came through to prevail in the end. |
In Kevin Na's bag...A trio of 69’s in the opening four rounds provided a good platform for Kevin to go into the final round looking up instead of down. However when everyone else was heading in the other direction, Kevin fell down the leader board with a final round of 76, eventually ending up in a tie for 66th position. This is the first time we have caught up with Kevin Na and it is a great shot. We can clearly see the snoopy headcover that we believe covers his fairway wood. The large headcover we’ve worked out belong to a Cobra Speed Pro D driver. The 2 smaller headcovers are covering a pair of Cobra Baffler DWS hybrids. His irons we can see are King Cobra Pro CB’s. The image is so good that we cannot only see that Kevin was using Titleist Vokey Design wedges - but we can see that he was using a SM60.08 and a SM54.10.
