2008 Australian Masters

27-30 November 2008 - Sportsbet Australian Masters - Huntingdale GC. Rod Pampling won the Sportsbet Australian Masters after edging out Marcus Fraser at the third play-off hole. The two Australians finished locked at the top of the final round leader board on 12 under par. Fraser carded a brilliant final round seven under par 65, which included just one bogey, while Pampling signed for a fourth round 65 despite having birdie chances at closing 3 holes of his round which would have sealed the win. A the 3rd play-off hole, Pampling put the pressure on his opponent after getting to within a foot, but Fraser secured the win after converting from ten feet.

In Daniel Chopra's bag...3 consistent rounds at level par or better saw Daniel secure his first top-25 finish of the new season.

Again, apologise on the quality on the photo (our Australian correspondent is on thin ice!) but our experts at the tournament and here in the office have identified the following. Daniel started his round with a Taylor Made Burner Tour TP driver. He complemented this with a Ping Rapture V2 fairway wood. His irons were also from Ping; the S57's. His irons were complete with a pair of Ping Tour-W wedges. His putter, again from Ping, was a Ping Customer Anser 2.
