Joe Ogilvie
Residence: Lancaster, Ohio
DOB: 08/05/1974
Joe was an honourable mention All-American selection and two-time all-ACC at Duke. After turning professional in 1996 he earned fully exempt status on the Nationwide Tour for the following season in his second attempt at Qualifying School, where he missed the cut in 1996.
His first two Nationwide Tour wins came in 1998 at the Monterrey Open and Greensboro Open. This secured him his PGA Tour card for the 1999 season. That season, turned in career-best finish, a tie for 4th at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Prior to this he earned his first PGA Tour top-10 at the 1999 Motorola Western Open.
Joe lost his card for the 2002 season but regained it straight away with a second place finish on the Nationwide Tour money list. In 2004 he made almost $1.5million dollars - more than he had done on his first four years on tour.
It was not until his 230th start on the PGA Tour that Joe got the sweet taste of victory. His second round of 63 was the highlight of the week but the key to victory did not come till the 70th hole. Holing out from 119 years for an eagle help Joe overcome the one-shot overnight leader Tim Herron.
2009 has not gone the way Joe would have planned. Inconsistency has plagued his season with missed cuts being followed by low finishes. He only has a tie for 11th finish at the Zurich Classic in April to show for his efforts this season.

Joe Ogilvie Tournament History
2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational |
13-16 March - Arnold Palmer Invitational - Bay Hill Club and Lodge. In typical Tiger fashion, the world #1 sank a 24-foot putt on the 72nd hole at Bay Hill for his fifth consecutive win, much to the annoyance of Bart Bryant who was looking for his first win since 2005. This was his biggest challenge since this streak began 7 months ago, Woods outlasted 45-year-old Bart Bryant and won with a birdie putt on the 72nd hole for the first time in 7 years. He turned and slammed his cap to the ground, letting out a roar to celebrate his 64th career victory, tying Ben Hogan at #3 on the PGA Tour career list. |
In Joe Ogilvie's bag...Joe was the measure of consistency this week. Each round would have pleased the tournament director as he played to level par each time. Finishing level par for the week and finishing just outside the top-30 - not a bad result at all. Here we’re in no doubt that we’re looking at the right bag. we can see Joe’s TaylorMade Burner Tour TP driver at the top of the image. Moving down through the bag we can see his TaylorMade Burner TP fairway woods and his Taylor Rescue TP hybrid. His irons are the TaylorMade R7 steel model. Finally his wedges are from the Titleist Vokey range -one spin milled and one from the 200 series.
