Jason Gore
Residence: Valencia, California
DOB: 17/05/1974
Jason had a relatively quite amateur career compared to some of his other PGA Tour professionals. He attended Pepperdine University. He was part of their NCAA Division I Championship team in 1997. He also played on the Walker Cup team that year and turned professional later that year. Jason plays on the PGA Tour after moving from the Nationwide Tour halfway through the 2005 season.
In his first 4 PGA Tour events as a fully fledge player his best finish was a tie for 49th. This was all about to change. In on his 4th start on the tour after making the switch from the Nationwide Tour he was a Champion on the PGA Tour. His opening round of 65 at the 84 Lumber Classic secured him the lead after the first round and he never looked back!
Over the following years Jason went a little quiet on Tour. He made as many cuts as he missed and only secured a handful of top-10 finishes. His best finish through 2008 was a tie for 2nd at the Buick invitational in 2007.
2009 has not bared many more fruits for Jason. His best finish was a tie for 8th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational - however this was followed by a trio of missed cuts and some big scores.

Jason Gore Tournament History
2008 Buick Invitational |
24-27 January - Buick Invitational - Torrey Pines. Tiger Woods joined elite company on the final day of the Buick Invitational, even though he might as well have been playing alone. He thrilled the 4-deep gallery with an improbable flop shot from the trampled grass behind the 9th green to save par. He sent Torrey Pines into delirium with a 60-foot birdie putt that started in one direction and slid into the cup from the other. He made 3 straight bogeys on the back 9, a rarity for him when he's in the lead. And none of it mattered. The outcome was never in doubt at the Buick Invitational, only the final score. A 10-foot birdie on the 18th gave Woods a 1-under 71 and an 8-shot victory, the ninth time in his career that he has won by at least that many. |
In Jason Gore's bag...Opening rounds of 73, 71 and then another 63 left Jason in contention to qualify for the final round and maybe improve and get in amongst the prize money. However a disappointing 79 in the fourth round of five put him back to +8 for the week and meant that he did not qualify for the final round shoot-out. Jason Gore clearly does not want us to know what’s hiding under those customer headcovers. However what we can see is a set of Cobra Pro MB irons. What’s interesting is the inclusion of a Mizuno MP Fli-Hi - considering that as a Cobra Player and Cobra making such brilliant hybrids. His wedges are Titleist Spin Milled Satin and although it’s not pictured we understand that Jason is testing a Scotty Cameron prototype putter.
