Mizuno JPX-800 Irons

Features and benefits of the Mizuno JPX-800 irons:

  • A serious looking iron with 'Balanced Performance' the JPX800 is Mizuno's first to bring its JPX exotic technology platform to Europe.
  • The JPX800 delivers the magical combination of being Mizuno's most forgiving (MOI measurement) and longest (COR measurement) iron of all time.
  • A HOT METAL process allows the JPX800 to hit the maximum allowable limits for energy transfer, far exceeding previous Mizuno irons.
  • The JPX800 achieves all this within a mid-size head which presents itself even more compactly and versatile thanks to a triple cut sole design.

Mizuno JPX-800 User Reviews

Very pleased and impressed. Having played for the past 3 years with the forged MX900's, I had expected to lose some of the great feel I had with those irons, but I can honestly say I don't think I have. The feel is every bit as good as far as I'm concerned. I was a little worried on my first range session that the increased distance claims were exaggerated but I'm putting that down to the range balls, because on course I am getting a high launch penetrating ball flight that is giving me about an extra 10-12 yards per club. This is no doubt due to the stronger lofts, but that is what I was after so I'm happy. With the pitching wedge at 44 deg loft though, I think I will have to invest in a 48 deg wedge to fit in between the 44 deg PW and my 52 deg GW.

I bought these clubs from Golfbidder to replace my ageing MX900's. In terms of profile, the head sizes are similar but the JPX has a narrower sole in the longer irons. I think these clubs look better in the flesh than they do in pictorally. The contrast between the blue and black is not nearly so stark as you would think. They set up beautifully behind the ball and I'm expecting great things. Will come back with a more detailed review when I have played a few rounds with them. Finally Golfbidder rated my set at 9-10-10. When I unpacked them, 5 of the 7 irons were brand new still in their head and grip wrapping, the 7 iron was minus it's head wrapper but had clearly never been hit and the 6 iron still had it's grip wrapper and may have hit 2-3 balls. Fantastic deal at £80 less than current prices plus I ordered them at 9am on Wednesday and they arrived at 11.50am on Thursday. Brilliant all round service.

Over the last two years I have owned the following sets of clubs....Cobra S9, Mizuno MX25, Mizuno MX23, Mizuno pro 11 zoid grain, Nickent Genex Irons, Big Bertha 2002 Irons, Benross VX-51 Forged, Ping ISI K irons, Wison Staff FG-17 Tour blades, and Ping G2 Hi launch . The Mizuno JPX800 Irons are by far the best i have tried, they are forgiving but will encourage you to become a better player by not being chunky as some game improvement irons can be. Good hit,s off the clubface give as good a feel as the forged irons i have tried in the list above, off centre hit,s give a good result unlike the forged irons i have used.
