Taylor Made Burner XD irons. New for the 2008 season the Burner XD irons are aimed at distance fanatics. Taylor Made claim the Burner XD iron delivers up to 8 yards more compared to the average iron thanks in part to it's thin and flexible Titanium face. The thin, flexible and fast Titanium clubface delivers a higher spring effect for higher ball speeds and phenomenal distance. An ultra-strong 17-4 Stainless Steel body surrounds the Titanium face to give superb durability and consistency. A progressive offset design gives extra help to square the clubhead at impact. An extra large, oversized clubhead and deep cavity back produces an exceptionally high MOI (Moment Of Inertia). This reduces clubhead twist on off centre strikes for more accuracy and forgiveness. TaylorMade's famous Inverted Cone Technology on the back of the face increases the size of the sweet spot for more forgiveness on off centre strikes. Fitted with ultra-lightweight REAX SuperFast steel shafts. These give more clubhead speed, more ball speed and more distance

WOW!! I read the other gentlemans review of these clubs and put his overly enthusiastic praise down to the fact he had some shiny new irons in his bag....but I did him a mis-service. these REALL ARE that good. I hit more consistently, straighter and much much much longer! my XD 7 iron really does travel as far as my previous 5 iron, and two of my friends who had tried these irons are now working out feindish schemes to steal mine, or obtain their own. It is not just the distance that these clubs generate however, as I managed to hit some nicklaus irons at my local range a similar distance. The balance of the club, the feel as you strike the ball and ultimatley the levels of forgiveness that these clubs have, allows you to play with more confidence as well. Truely over the moon with them (in fact while i am up here, i may as well pick up some of these Nasa golf balls)

All i can say is WOW!!....this irons are like rocket launchers...i used to have Callaway X20 Tours...and i hit my 7 Iron 150/158 yards depending how hard i hit it! These New Burner XD's..well i hit my 7 iron 170/178 yards now... I hit my 7 iron further than my old X20 Tour 6 Iron and nearly up to the 5 Iron!! Outstanding Irons with large heads for overall confidence and forgivness...even my bad ones go further and nearly as straight as my old X20 Tours!! Get these in as its a lot nice coming into a green for 175 yards with a 7 Iron rather than a 5 iron!!
