Titleist 905R Driver

Titleist Pro Titanium 905R. As used by Zach Johnson to win the 2007 Masters at Augusa National - the Pro Titanium 905R is a 460cc driver, the maximum allowable head size for players seeking the ultimate combination of ball speed launch angle, spin and forgiveness. With Titleist's distinctive pear-shaped profile, and shallow face set naturally square to address it instils confidence from the first swing. The new driver joins the 400cc 905S in Titleist's Pro Titanium driver family. The 460cc head offers greater forgiveness and a sweet spot 35% larger than its smaller companion. A slightly altered weight distribution provides the 905R with a deep centre of gravity and a little more spin than the 905T. Compared to the 905S, the Titleist Pro Titanium 905R offers higher spin and a slightly higher launch angle. Whereas the 905S is tailored for higher ball speed, high spin players actively seeking lower launch and spin.

Titleist 905R User Reviews

I had no major problems with my old Mizuno MP-001 stiff 9 degrees. I'm happy with trajectory (quite low) and length of the hits. The reason for buying Titleist 905R stiff 9,5 deg. was the size of clubhead. It's 460cc and I vas hoping a bit more forgiveness. And it worked out good. I can still hit enourmous slices but for that I need to hit VERY HARD! Normal shots keeps in control nicely. Ball flies now a bit higher and shot lengts are quite same, at least not longer, but about the same. Shaft is 5 grams heavier (60 --> Aldila nv65s), but seems that I have already used to it. Clubhead, shaft and grip were ranked 6 by Golfbidder. I changed the grip and now the club is not like new, but in very good condition for me.

I was playing a G5, but always had a soft spot for titleist woods, which increased after recently getting a 906f2 3 wood from Golfbidder which is excellent. I saw this driver on Golfbidders auction page and couldn't believe it when I snapped it up for £50! It's taking some getting used to and on a day when you're not swinging well it certainly isn't as forgiving as the G5. However, when you're in the groove this thing absolutely bombs it! My first ever hit with it was on a par and the stiff Speeder shaft and 9 degrees of loft gave it a low, penetrating trajectory that carried about 275-280 and finished up 320! It put a smile on my face! I reckon it'll take me a good few rounds to hit it as consistently as my old driver but when I do i'm convinced this will help me hit more fairways!

This Driver is my all time favourite. The classic pear shaped head is the main reason along with its solid feel. Opted for a stiff shaft flex to help keep shots on the fairway and it works like a dream.

Received club yesterday bought from Golfbidder and immediately hit the driving range. What a superb club!! Easier to hit than my Cobra HS9 series and sounds a lot better. Can't wait to get it on the course
