This latest generation of Callaway irons incorporate superior weight-shifting Fusion Technology and three distinct materials.Tunite is an alloy comprising nickel and tungsten and allows for 77% of the clubhead mass to be positioned around the perimeter of the iron, creating extreme perimeter weighting through an ultra-high Moment of Inertia (or MOI) which is the measure of a club's resistance to twisting. More resistance to twisting gives exceptional stability and straighter shots. The face is a lightweight, formed 6-4 titanium face insert. This grade of titanium is one of the strongest titanium alloys; the "6" refers to the percentage of aluminum (6%) and the "4" refers to the percentage of vanadium (4%) in the alloy. Using this material in the face of Callaway Big Bertha Fusion Irons creates a clubface that is 35% lighter than a comparable steel face. That frees even more mass to be distributed around the perimeter creating even more stability at impact.
