Callaway Tour Blue Putter. Each Callaway Golf Tour Blue Putter starts a block of commercially pure titanium (99 percent titanium) which is machine-milled to extremely tight tolerances. This ensures that each Tour Blue Putter conforms precisely to the intended weight and shape for truer roll and performance. Softer than lesser grades of titanium, the Callaway Tour Blue Putters have great feel and feedback. The titanium's light weight alllows Callaway's designers to place two precision tungsten weight inserts in the sole. These are bonded into machined pockets in the heel and toe areas. The tungsten inserts are more than 375 percent heavier than the lightweight titanium they replace. This gives the Tour Blue Putters a very low centre of gravity and a higher resistance to twisting at impact. The blue-golf finish is unique — no two Callaway Tour Blue putters are alike. This is thanks to a process called Physical Vapour Deposition. The process happens inside a vacuum chamber and uses high heat to vaporise a solid block of titanium. Gasses are injected into the chamber, which gives the vaporised titanium its distinct colour. The vaporised titanium adheres to the putterhead to create a coating that’s permanently bonded to the surface of the Tour Blue Putters. The result is a one-of-a-kind, corrosion-resistant finish that is as durable as it is beautiful.
