I started this year on 28 and I've been taking lessons regularly over the year. I got down to 24 but have crept back up over the last few medals. I've been using an old set of blades up to now, but have been on the look-out for some clubs like these for a while. I must admit to being quite surprised by how forgiving they are. Bad shots are still bad.. but at least they are a lot straighter. Good shots fly higher, straighter and longer than before. First time out with these and I shot 2 over my handicap, so I have high hopes that I'll be back on track to get my handicap into the teens next year.

I took these irons out for the first time last Saturday in a club competition. The 4 iron is the easiest hit long iron I have ever used, it was so good when I got home I removed my 5 wood and put in the 3 iron. The rest of the set hit longer and straighter then any clubs I have tried. My fade/ slice has gone. For £141 second hand in tip top condiction what more can you ask for. I should have done this at the start of the golfing year and not the end as my handicap would be lower by now.

For £146 quid these clubs are simply sublime! I bought them as a second set to ship out to Spain, however after having hit with them my mind was changed. The Adamsgolf set are now on there way out there and these Titleist's are staying right where they are.
Firstly I would like to commend GolfBidder in every way, I really have no complaints.. the clubs were rated 6 for everything and I would have to say that I think it is a little harsh. The shafts and grips look as good as new and really deserved higher. Delivery was swift and effortless too.
Now to the clubs. These are without a doubt the nicest Irons that I have ever played a round with, surprisingly easy to hit, long and straight. Simple design and look very good at address. Found that I had absolute confidence in them instantly and they were very forgiving. I am certain that these Irons will help to improve my handicap and I can't see that I will be getting rid of the anytime soon.
Thanks again to Golfbidder and to the fool that decided to sell these clubs to them!

At first i wasn't keen on these clubs felt very unforgiving and dangerously inconcistent, But this was down to my swing, had a lesson with a pro and now its alll sorted, now hitting the ball solidly with great feel and accuracy! Long irons are a dream to use, i would recomend these clubs to any handicap although distance isnt amazing ths is all made up in accuracy, i know which i prefer!

I've put down my handicap as 8 because the automated system didn't let me enter 'haven't got one at the moment'. I played to an 8 handicap when I was 18, then gave up on golf for thirty years until earlier this year. I started off with a cheap set of beginner's clubs. I won't bad-mouth them because they did their job, but to my surprise, my old skill level came back v. quickly, and I needed an upgrade within a couple of months (not least because I caved in the driver face - and its replacement - with my drives). I'm now playing to between a 6 and 10 handicap depending on my luck, and I must get round to getting a handicap again ...
Okay, so why choose the 822OS range for my irons? Two main reasons. First, I've always had a weakness for Titleist and second, because IMHO these are one of the few models that you can play with at all levels and get good use out of them. All right, there's a third reason - having spent 200 or so quid on one set of beginner's clubs this year already, I was too much of a tightwad to pony up 600 quid for a brand new set.
As for the irons themselves, I think a lot of players have a fixation that you 'must' have musclebacks if you want a decent level of control. Well, I can get a draw and fade out of the 822s and a good level of spin and I'm a pretty average golfer. They also have decent distance; at the moment I'm trying to rein in the power of my shots in an effort to get a little more accuracy. However, opening up the throttle a bit, I could get 260 yards out of the 3 iron (for comparison, I can get an older model DCI 1 iron 280 yards and a driver 310 yards) and using a lake ball at that. The feel of the clubs is excellent, and there's a decent sized sweetspot. When I mis-hit (generally looking up too soon to see how the clubs had performed - yes, I know, not the sort of thing you're supposed to do) they were pretty forgiving and what would have been a painful slice or hook on my beginner's clubs was generally a mildish deviation in path.
I've no complaints at all about these clubs and I think that given the distance and control I can get out of these I would need a lot of persuading to use musclebacks.
If you're thinking of getting the 822OSs I'd say the following. Some authorities label these as game improvement clubs, others as standard clubs. As I've already intimated, I think they're both. If you're a beginning player, then perhaps think a bit carefully. The clubs are forgiving and you'll grow to love them, but you may not get the initial buzz that other more 'obvious' improvement clubs will give you (also, unless you have a very fast swing, get the regular flex). However, in the long run, IMHO they'll more than pay their way. For a middle to low handicap player, I'd firmly recommend them unless you must at all costs go down the 'look at me, I'm macho' muscleback route (but then if that's the case you're unlikely to be reading this review).
Finally, a big thanks to Golfbidder. I got a set rated as 'good' on all counts, and if anything this is an understatement. If I didn't know better, I'd swear the grips were new and the shafts are excellent. The club faces were better than the set I've just discarded and I've only had them three months! There were no scratches worth writing home about and certainly nothing that would remotely affect playability.
