Taylor Made R510 TP Driver

TaylorMade R510 TP. TaylorMade's 500 Series woods comprises three models - the R510, R540, and R580. All are titanium. Utilizing a two-piece face weld, the R500 Series' clubhead is composed of a high-strength titanium body and a cold-rolled titanium clubface. Manufacturing the clubface separately allows TaylorMade to make it ultra-thin yet extremely strong, so that it generates a more efficient energy transfer at impact, creating a higher COR. In 2003, the 500 Series won its third consecutive major championship when TaylorMade Tour Staff pro Mike Weir won the Masters using a R580. The TaylorMade R510 TP is an authentic tour product manufactured with the original tour tooling and is the same club that - as of the summer of 2004 - was used by more than 25 professionals on the PGA Tour.

I bought the R510 tp 9.5 with the fujikera x-stiff shaft, I bought it mainly because the condition of the head was brand new almost. I played a couple of holes and realised the shaft wasn't suited for me, so changed it for the grafalloy blue tour stiff (same as my Ping si3). Now I have it set up it's a good club, solid contact, easy to shape, sits well at address, nice weighty feal to the head! Maybe not suit everyone but for me worth the effort to set up correct !

Had been on the driver merry go round for a few months & just couldn't find "the one". Delighted to report that the 510 TP has exceeded all my expectations. Great to look at, as it sits dead square at address, and a great solid feel at impact - not clunky like other metals. Easy to work either way & very controllable, with the added benefit that it fully conforms with the recent updated R & A and USGA specs for conforming driving clubs, so no future problems here!! Cannot recommend it highly enough - do your handicap a favour and get one of these in your bag ASAP.
