Kjeldsen wins Golfer of the Month award

Soren Kjeldsen has been named the Race to Dubai Golfer of the Month for March following his recent victory at the Andalucian Open.

The 33-year-old Danish player finished three strokes ahead of Scotsman David Drysdale to capture the third European Tour title of his career at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla on March 29th.

Kjeldsen, who also recorded a joint seventh finish in the WGC-CA Championship at Doral earlier in the month, set a new course record with his stunning ten-under-par 62 on day three in Seville.

His Andalucian Open triumph followed victory in the Volvo Masters at another southern Spanish venue, Valderrama, last November.

"Soren''s success in Andalucia and the manner in which he won, with the course record in the third round, made him a deserving recipient of the award," BBC golf correspondent Iain Carter told the European Tour website.

Kjeldsen joins this year''s previous recipients of the Race to Dubai Golfer of the Month award Rory McIlroy (January) and Geoff Ogilvy (February).
