Cabrera claims green jacket with playoff victory

Ping golfer Angel Cabrera defeated Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell in a playoff to win the Masters on Sunday (April 12th).

On a dramatic final day at Augusta, the 39-year-old Argentinian clinched his second Major title when Perry hit a wild approach shot at the second extra hole.

Campbell had been eliminated at the first playoff hole, with Cabrera going on to add the Masters title to his US Open victory at Oakmont in 2007.

"I''m so emotional I can barely talk. This moment and the win in Oakmont are the greatest moments of my life," he said afterwards.

Cabrera was number 69 in the world before the tournament began, making him the lowest ranked player to win the Masters since the world ranking system was introduced in 1986.

Perry, who famously lost a playoff to Mark Brooks at the US PGA Championship in 1996, was left to rue another missed opportunity.

The 48-year-old Kentuckian was bidding to become the oldest player to win a Major.
