John Daly is preparing to make his first appearance since December at the Spanish Open later this month.
The European Tour event, which takes place at PGA Golf de Catalunya in Girona from April 30th to May 3rd, will be Daly''s first tournament since the Australian Masters.
In December, Daly revealed that he had been given a six-month suspension by the PGA Tour following a series of public indiscretions, including a brief trip to jail in North Carolina after police said he was found drunk outside a restaurant.
However, the 42-year-old recently posted a message on his personal website claiming that he has shed a substantial amount of weight and is looking forward to competing again.
"That change in 40 pounds does a lot in how you carry yourself and your confidence," Daly wrote.
"[I am] looking forward to getting back to work and hitting the European tour this month, first stop Spain then Italy."
According to the schedule on Daly''s website, the two-time Major winner will follow his appearance in Girona by playing at the Italian Open, the Irish Open and the PGA Championship at Wentworth.
