Wilson golfer Padraig Harrington has admitted that his relationship with Sergio Garcia is less than cordial because the two players have nothing in common.
Harrington''s rivalry with the Spaniard first came to public attention when he beat him in a playoff to win the Open at Carnoustie last year, with this summer''s US PGA Championship at Oakland Hills deepening the antipathy between the two men.
Garcia was again edged out by Harrington at the US PGA, with the Dubliner telling the Guardian this week that he feels he is "the antithesis" of his Ryder Cup team-mate.
Speaking frankly about his relationship with Garcia, Harrington said: "We have zero in common, bar the fact that we both play golf. He is destined to find the long game easy and the short game hard, and I am the opposite.
"We''re also competitors who for the last few years have been vying over who is the number one golfer in Europe."
However, the 37-year-old also revealed that relations between him and Garcia improved at the Ryder Cup in September, when they played several practice rounds together.
Currently ranked number four in the world, Harrington was named Golfer of the Year by the European Tour this week.
