Faldo 'would take captaincy again'

Nick Faldo would consider captaining the European Ryder Cup side again, despite presiding over the defeat at Valhalla in September.

The 51-year-old was widely criticised for his tactics and team selection after leading Europe to their heaviest loss since 1981, but said the experience in Kentucky has not put him off reprising his role in the future.

Speaking to BBC1''s Inside Sport programme on Monday (November 17th) night, Faldo said: "I would do it again. The buzz of being in that team room with all the guys was really special. I loved the experience."

Yesterday, when questioned by reporters ahead of this week''s Hong Kong Open, he added: "If somewhere down the line there''s another opportunity to be captain, I would really consider it."

The 2010 Ryder Cup will take place at Celtic Manor in Wales, with Jose Maria Olazabal, Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam also in the frame for the captaincy.

During his Inside Sport interview, Faldo also revealed that he is planning to play in the 2009 Open Championship at Turnberry in July.
