Simon Dyson believes the condition of courses on the Asian Tour, including the Serapong Course at Sentosa Island, is ideally suited to his style of golf.
At the Singapore Open today, the 30-year-old Englishman shot a second round of 67 to share the clubhouse lead with Callaway golfer Ernie Els on six under par.
Dyson, who has collected four Asian Tour titles in his career so far, told reporters afterwards that he feels courses like the Singapore Open venue put him at an advantage.
"It''s not necessarily the heat but the turf suits my game," the York-born player explained.
"The ball sits up nicely and you can do whatever you want with it. I like to hit all types of shot."
Chapchai Nirat of Thailand and Northern Ireland''s Rory McIlroy are currently tied for third place in Singapore on four under par.
