Callaway golfer Phil Mickelson has decided not to become a full member of the European Tour this season.
The American, who admitted in Shanghai last week that he was "not quite ready to commit" to the Tour, confirmed that he will wait at least another year before participating in the Race to Dubai.
Speaking in Singapore, Mickelson claimed that playing on the European Tour in 2009 was "not quite right for me time-wise", but said he remains keen to take part in the future.
He explained: "I have still made a commitment to play more golf internationally and I do believe it''s very possible that, in the near future, it will be in my plans."
Mickelson lost his world number two status to TaylorMade golfer Sergio Garcia this week following the Spaniard''s victory at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
However, he could regain the ranking immediately by winning the Barclays Singapore Open, which starts at Sentosa Golf Club tomorrow (November 13th).
