Poulter and Villegas join field for Johnnie Walker Classic

Cobra golfers Ian Poulter and Camilo Villegas will both travel to Australia for the Johnnie Walker Classic in February.

Taking place at The Vines Resort in Perth from February 19th to 22nd, the event is tri-sanctioned by the European, Asian and Australasian Tours.

Ranked seventh and 25th in the world respectively, Villegas and Poulter have confirmed their appearances and join a field already containing Nike golfer Paul Casey and Ping''s Lee Westwood, as well as Australian golf legend Greg Norman.

David Gates, a spokesperson for the sponsors, said the line-up for the Johnnie Walker Classic is "shaping up to be one of the strongest and most colourful we have ever had".

Villegas broke into the top ten after winning two consecutive PGA Tour events during the FedEx Cup playoffs in September, while Poulter placed second at the Open in July and was one of Europe''s outstanding players in the Ryder Cup.

Last year''s Johnnie Walker Classic was won by New Zealand''s Mark Brown.
