Spanish medical officials have said that Seve Ballesteros is making slow but steady progress in his recovery from brain surgery.
The 51-year-old golfing legend underwent three operations to remove a brain tumour last month and has now begun rehabilitation treatment at La Paz Hospital in Madrid.
A statement released by the hospital on Friday (November 7th) said that Ballesteros'' condition continues to improve, but warned that his recovery will take some time, AFP reports.
"He is coming on favourably - but it''s a slow process," doctors stated.
Meanwhile, a message posted on Ballesteros'' personal website by his family said that "Seve is putting all the positive energy he can into this tough battle".
Ballesteros become the first European golfer to triumph at the Masters in 1980, a tournament he won again in 1983.
The Pedrena-born player collected a total of 87 professional titles, including five Majors, before retiring last year due to knee and back problems.
