TaylorMade golfer Sergio Garcia defeated Callaway''s Oliver Wilson in a playoff to win the HSBC Champions in China today (November 10th).
Both players finished on 14 under par at the rain-disrupted Shanghai tournament, but Garcia clinched victory with a seven-foot birdie putt at the second extra hole, while Wilson could only manage par.
The Spaniard''s win earns him a cheque for $833,300 (£529,352) and sees him overtake Phil Mickelson as world number two.
"I''m just so proud to win and well, number two in the world
I''m very happy. It''s a great week," Garcia said afterwards.
Meanwhile, Wilson expressed his disappointment after missing out on his first professional victory and finishing as runner-up for the eighth time in his career.
"It''s just getting to a stage where second is not enough anymore," the 28-year-old Englishman said.
Geoff Ogilvy and Peter Hanson shared third place on 13 under par at Sheshan International Golf Club, while first-round leader Henrik Stenson finished a further two strokes behind in fifth.
