Nike golfer Tiger Woods believes he is making good progress in his recovery from knee surgery, although he still does not plan to swing a club until the new year.
In his monthly online update yesterday (November 5th), the world number one said his condition is "progressing" with "no setbacks" to the rehabilitation process so far.
The 14-time Major winner has not played golf since his US Open victory at Torrey Pines in June, after which he underwent surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Woods said: "I''ve actually started to do a little chipping and putting, but no full swings. That''s not going to happen until early next year."
Last month, the 32-year-old told an ESPN interviewer he is "very confident" of being fit to play in the 2009 Masters next April.
Woods was runner-up at Augusta last year, finishing three strokes behind champion Trevor Immelman of South Africa.
