Guatemala book World Cup spot

The line up for the Omega Mission Hills World Cup was finalised on Saturday when Guatemala won the last qualifier.

Alejandro Villavicencio and Pablo Acuna carded a final round of 67 to win the Marriott Venezuela Playa Grande Nations Cup by four shots from Mexico.

Second place in the foursomes contest was enough for Mexican duo Daniel De Leon and Oscar Serna to secure their place in the prestigious event in China in November.

Venezuela''s Raul Sanz and Miguel Martinez struggled on the final day and could only shoot 74, but it proved good enough to hold off the challenges of Brazil and Colombia to secure the third and final qualification spot.

Scotland will begin the 28-team World Cup as reigning champions after Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren won the 2007 event. However, Yonex golfer Montgomerie will be partnered by Alistair Forsyth this year.

Cobra golfer Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher will represent England, while Bradley Dredge and Richard Johnson form the Welsh team, and Ireland will rely on Callaway professional Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley.ADNFCR-1571-ID-18822488-ADNFCR
