Liang scrapes home in Delhi

Liang Wen-chong hung on to clinch victory in the Hero Honda Indian Open on Sunday thanks to back-to-back birdies on the final two holes of the tournament.

The Chinese player had led from the start after carding a course-record 60 on the opening day at Delhi Golf Club.

However, it looked as if victory may slip from his grasp when Australia''s Darren Beck shot a final round of 65 to post a target of 15 under par.

Liang held his nerve and fought back in the closing stages to record a 70 and secure a one-shot margin of victory.

Adam Blyth began the final round just a shot adrift of the leader but could only manage a level-par 72 and had to settle for third.

Indian star Jeev Milkha Singh took fourth place after finishing at 12 under.

Despite choosing to play in Delhi instead of at the Madrid Masters, Singh maintained his position in the top ten of the European Tour Order of Merit.ADNFCR-1571-ID-18822471-ADNFCR
