Ian Poulter''s late collapse allowed South Korea''s Bae Sang-moon to clinch a surprise victory at the Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open yesterday.
The Cobra golfer led going into the last three holes at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, but bogeyed the 16th and 18th to close with a 70 and finish ten under par.
Home favourite Bae hit par on his final eight holes for a final-round 67, which put him one stroke ahead of Poulter on 11 under.
"I''m extremely happy and I don''t think I''ve realised the magnitude of my win. I''m very proud of myself," the 22-year-old said afterwards.
The victory represents Bae''s second Asian Tour title and sees him rise to fifth place in the Asian Order of Merit.
Poulter was not the only Ryder Cup star beaten by Bae, with Nike golfer Anthony Kim finishing joint-third at Woo Jeong Hills.
The 23-year-old American closed with a 71 to tie with another Korean, Kim Wi-joong, on nine under par.
