Fabio Capello tried out a new training method with the England football team yesterday - nine holes of golf.
As part of the preparations for tomorrow''s first World Cup qualifying match against Andorra, the manager instructed his players to take to the fairways at the team base near Watford, the Daily Mail reports.
The move is thought to have surprised many squad members, as they have grown accustomed to a regime of strict training and tough fitness drills since the Italian became England boss.
Capello also took out his golf clubs and joined in with the players, although it is not clear who finished with the lowest score.
Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard, who could make his international debut in Barcelona tomorrow, is known to be a keen golfer.
The 29-year-old recently joked that he had expected to play a few rounds this weekend before receiving his first call-up to the England squad.
Following tomorrow''s match with Andorra, Capello and his players travel to Zagreb to face Croatia on Wednesday night.
