Cleveland golfer Vijay Singh has confirmed that he will play in November''s HSBC Champions event in Shanghai.
The world number three''s appearance means that the top five active players in the rankings will all be present at Sheshan International Golf Club, with Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson also taking part.
Beginning on November 6th, the Shanghai event will also feature world number ten Geoff Ogilvy and current Masters champion Trevor Immelman, the world number 19.
Singh commented: "The strength and depth of this field certainly makes the HSBC Champions one of the strongest tournaments outside the Majors.
"I think the course at Sheshan is a fantastic setting for an event of this calibre."
Singh will be hoping his current form does not desert him by the time he makes the trip to China.
The 45-year-old Fijian is on course for victory in the FedEx Cup after winning the first two playoff events, giving him a lead of 12,225 points.
