Singh wins again at Deutsche Bank

A final round of 63 saw Cleveland golfer Vijay Singh clinch his second consecutive PGA Tour victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship yesterday.

The Fijian has now won the first two events of the FedEx Cup playoffs, placing him at the top of the PGA Tour money list and in a commanding position for this week''s BMW Championship in St Louis.

Singh finished 22 under par at TPC Norton, with TaylorMade''s Mike Weir five strokes adrift in second place.

The Canadian was one shot in front going into the back nine at the Massachusetts course, but three long birdie putts, including a 60-footer at the 14th hole, saw Singh sweep into the lead.

Callaway golfer Ernie Els and Cobra''s Camilo Villegas tied for third on 14 under par, with TaylorMade player Sergio Garcia and Tim Herron a further shot behind.

Garcia later described Singh''s current form as "awesome" - he has now won three of his last five outings and equalled Phil Mickelson''s tally of 34 career victories.
