Yonex golfer Colin Montgomerie has not given up hope of playing in the Ryder Cup again, despite missing out on a wildcard for this month''s event at Valhalla.
The 45-year-old Scotsman was not selected by European captain Nick Faldo for the biennial showdown after suffering a lapse in form and dropping to 93 in the world this season.
However, with the Ryder Cup heading to Celtic Manor in Wales in 2010, Monty said that he will aim to play his way back into the side.
"I do feel I have not played my last Ryder Cup," he stated.
"But I have to get my consistent game back. It will be harder next time, so I have to raise the bar as well
I am determined to do that."
Announcing his wildcard picks at Gleneagles on Sunday, Faldo ignored Monty and fellow Ryder Cup veteran Darren Clarke in favour of Paul Casey and Ian Poulter.
Montgomerie has represented Europe eight times at the Ryder Cup, featuring in every competition since 1991. His omission from this year''s team means that there are no Scottish players in the side for the first time since 1937.
