Nike golfer Tiger Woods revealed details of his new course in the United Arab Emirates yesterday, while also commenting on his current fitness outlook. Speaking at a news conference in Dubai, the world number one said that a timetable for his return to competitive golf is yet to be finalised, although he "will be hitting golf balls at the beginning of the year".
A new luxury development in Dubai is set to feature the first course designed by Woods, who has been out of action since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery after the US Open in June.
Named Al-Rawaya, the 7,800-yard, par-72 course will be of championship calibre and is situated next to a golf academy and boutique hotel.
The venue is scheduled for completion next year and is being built in partnership with Tatweer, a real estate firm owned by the Dubai government.
