Woods 'walks on water' for golf ad

Nike golfer Tiger Woods has been keeping busy during his injury layoff by learning how to perform miracles, according to an internet advert for his new video game.

The YouTube clip, created for the release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 by EA Sports, shows the world number one playing a so-called "Jesus shot" when his ball lands on a lily pad in the middle of a water hazard.

Instead of conceding a stroke penalty, Woods calmly takes off his shoes and walks across the water to the ball, before holing out with a precise wedge shot from the centre of the pond.

According to Golf.com, the video is a response to reports of a "glitch" in earlier versions of the game, which allowed players to hit shots while standing on water hazards.

Clifford Roberts, the former chairman of Augusta National, is said to have secretly built a walkway under the surface of the pond at the 16th hole to surprise his peers.

Woods recently stated that he is unlikely to pick up a golf club until next year, as he continues to recover from arthroscopic knee surgery.
