Nike golfer Anthony Kim will tee off as one the favourites to win the Barclays Classic in New Jersey this week.
Although still only 23, the Los Angeles-born player has drawn comparisons with Tiger Woods following a series of impressive performances on the PGA Tour this season.
Kim is yet to win a Major but clinched titles at the AT&T National and Wachovia Championship this year, leaving him well-placed for the series of four FedEX Cup playoffs which begins with the Barclays at Ridgewood Country Club.
Speaking to PGATour.com this week, Kim said that a more mature approach to golf has been the reason for his rise to prominence in the last 12 months.
"I''m more focused when I come to tournaments
I was going out every night last year and living the life of a professional athlete and not focusing on my craft," he explained.
Kim was also keen to shrug off his ''new Tiger Woods'' tag, stating: "I''ve only won two tournaments and really I haven''t done enough to get that comparison."
The Californian''s best finish at a Major came at The Open in July, when he tied for seventh.
