Karlsson bringing experience to Ryder Cup

Titleist player Robert Karlsson believes he received the ideal introduction to Ryder Cup golf at The K Club two years ago.

Making his debut in the biennial team competition, the Swede went up against Nike''s Tiger Woods in his singles match, with the world number one emerging victorious from their encounter.

Speaking to Sky Sports'' Golf Night recently, Karlsson looked back on his encounter with Woods and described it as a "really good experience", despite the personal defeat.

He said: "It couldn''t have been better for me as a rookie in the Ryder Cup.

"I could go out and just enjoy the game and everything looked good for the team anyway."

Having already secured a place in Nick Faldo''s side for this year''s competition, Karlsson is hoping that his experience can help steer Europe to a fourth successive victory.

The 37th Ryder Cup begins at Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky on September 19th.
