A first round of 66 saw Callaway golfer Nick Dougherty take a share of the lead at the SAS Masters yesterday.
The 26-year-old from Liverpool is joined at the top of the leaderboard by Sweden''s Peter Hanson and Spaniard Pedro Linhart, who also finished four under par on the opening day in Stockholm.
Dougherty missed the cut at the US PGA Championship last week but carded a bogey-free round, including an eagle at the 12th hole, at the European Tour event.
"It''s been a long while since I''ve had a round with no bogeys. I had plenty of them last week, that''s for sure!" he said afterwards.
A group of players including England''s Peter Baker, Dutchman Robert Jan-Derksen and Peter Fowler of Australia finished five under par to share third place.
Sweden''s Robert Karlsson is the highest ranked player in the field but could only manage a two-over-par 72.
Currently ranked 21st in the world, the Titleist player has already secured a spot in Nick Faldo''s Ryder Cup team.
