Brandt Snedeker will defend a PGA Tour title for the first time at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina this week.
The 27-year-old has fond memories of last year''s tournament, where he won by two strokes to seal a place in the FedExCup playoff events during his first season on the Tour.
Snedeker was later named rookie of the year for 2007 and followed up with a joint-third finish at the Masters this year. He also tied for ninth at the US Open in June.
Returning to Greensboro''s Sedgefield Country Club this week, the Nashville-born player is confident of retaining his title at the final regular event of the PGA Tour season.
"I''m really looking forward to this week
I''ve always played well in North Carolina and I love the style of golf here," Snedeker said.
Cleveland golfer Vijay Singh, the world number five, will be the only top 20 player in the field at Sedgefield. Snedeker is currently ranked number 44.
