Anthony Kim''s coach has claimed that the venue for the US PGA Championship will suit his charge''s style of play this week.
The Nike golfer is known for his powerful drives and Adam Schriber said that the newly-lengthened Oakland Hills course should provide the perfect stage for Kim to demonstrate his talents.
Still only 23, the Los Angeles-born player is rated as one of US golf''s brightest prospects and has already cemented a place in the Ryder Cup team for September.
Speaking to the Oakland Press ahead of today''s first round, Schriber said: "I like our chances this week. It''s a very long golf course.
"I think some of the players are going to struggle because of the length of this course."
The Michigan venue, which hosted the 2004 Ryder Cup, was recently lengthened by about 300 yards to measure 7,395.
Kim is due to play alongside Taylormade golfer Sergio Garcia and Cobra''s Camilo Villegas in today''s opening round.
