PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem has said that Tiger Woods'' recuperation from major knee surgery is going well, despite the Nike golfer losing some weight.
Speaking at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, Finchem revealed that he recently spoke with the convalescing world number one during a promotional visit to Maryland''s Congressional Country Club.
When asked about Woods'' progress, the commissioner stated that he had "lost 12 or 13 pounds after surgery" and "looks kind of thin".
However, Finchem also said that the 32-year-old had otherwise been "his usual self" and was excited to have started his rehabilitation programme.
"In my mind, it''s only a question of when he starts coming back. And there''s no doubt in my mind he''ll be the same Tiger he''s been," the PGA official said.
Woods announced his decision to miss the remainder of the season following his dramatic playoff victory over Callaway golfer Rocco Mediate at June''s US Open.
