Jim Furyk is hoping to translate a solid performance at Royal Birkdale last week into a third successive title at the Canadian Open.
Now ranked number 10 in the world, the Srixon golfer was tied for fifth at The Open, finishing ten over par after a solid display in difficult conditions.
Furyk has triumphed at Oakville''s Glen Abbey course for the last two years and will look to do so again this week, although the bad weather seems to have followed him the Canadian venue has received nearly eight inches of rain in the last five days, according to the Associated Press.
"This is definitely a golf course where you want to bring the ball in high into a lot of these greens, coming off a week where I didn''t hit it higher than about head height for four days," the 38-year-old said.
Another player who will be attempting to adjust his game from Merseyside links to Ontario fairways this week is rising star Anthony Kim, who finished 12 over par at The Open.
The Los Angeles-born Nike player is currently "as hot as any golfer in the world" according to the PGA Tour website. Still only 23, he has won the Wachovia Championship and the AT&T National this year.
